Un Café En El Fanguito
2025.
A digital collage of historical photographs of the now-vanished El Fanguito community in Hato Rey, San Juan, Puerto Rico, juxtaposed with the buildings that replaced it.
The collage also has a 20" x 25" analog version, composed of prints adhered to acetate sheets, mounted in a floating wooden frame.
It was exhibited on December 20, 2025, at the Miramar Museum of Art and Design (MADMi) as part of the "Barrio Adentro" exhibition organized by Quinto Orden.
batey[es]
2024.
batey[es] is an illustrated poem, made as the final project for The Certificate in Afro-Latin American Studies of The Afro-Latin American Research Institute (ALARI) in Harvard.
It explores Afro-Caribbean bodies and migrations, using the word batey and its respective meanings in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico as a unifying bridge between Black experiences in both countries.
